COVID-19 rules to enter Australia
If you’re planning to enter Australia, you need to comply with state regulations. Although quarantine is not needed, post-arrival testing may be required in some states. It’s best to check with the state you are entering beforehand. Most states and territories require documentation and proof of vaccination and that you take a COVID-19 test within 24 hours of arriving in Australia. The current general rules to enter Australia include:
- All passengers arriving by air are required to complete the Digital Passenger Declaration
- The declaration should be completed and submitted 7 days before your departure
- You must provide your health information (vaccination status and COVID-19 test result) within 72 hours before your flight
- You need to be vaccinated, including having taken the vaccination booster to enter the country
- If you cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons, you need to prove this
